Celtics/Dinga have a Cherry Pie Eating Contest

Leading up to the Magic/Cherry vs Celtics/Dinga game, the Celtics went to a Cherry Picking Farm, walked through the fields and learned all they could about Cherry.  Afterwards, they learned to eat up every Cherry they can find and learned to leave nothing on the plate.    

Classic Ending BobCats/Magic

Magic/Bobcats had a overtimee/sudden death battle this past weekend.  Garrison Cherry  gets the game winner for the Magic and kept their undefeated streak intact.

Trussville Takedown Tournament 1/16/10

The Vestavia Wrestling Club took 70 kids to the Trussville Takedown Tournament at the new Hewitt Trussville High School today.  We were quite impressed with the Huskies new facilities!

VICE/Manush Matchup

 At 2:00 on Saturday, two guys will face off that will be a classic matchup.  Andrew Manush and Michael Vice will face each other and the question is, who will score more points in the game.

at 1:00 Luke Couch faces cousin Weyman Prater in a nice matchup as well.  Weyman Prater was quoted Thursday night in practice stating he will take care of Luke and he will outscore and outplay him.  The Bulls were practicing hard getting ready for this game at East Arena.

at 12:00 Sean Smyth and Ben Tuggle and company face off against the highly charged Celtics.  Can Smyth have a career day against the Celtics  We shall see.   

Vestavia Invitational At Liberty Park

The Vestavia Wrestling Club hosted their first tournament at Liberty Park Middle School this past Saturday, January 9,2010. It was a very cold, blustery day, but the wrestlers showed up beginning at 6am for weigh ins. There were about 400 wrestlers in all. 36 different teams from around the state came. Vestavia Club had 86 wrestlers participate.

Here are some of the stars from the day:
George Dazzio was one of 10 guys all day that got 5 pins. Josh Smith scored 23 team points , Franklin Carder, George Dazzio, & Matt King scored 22, and Quin Estes and Rob Barrentine scored 20. Keifer Bangham scored 19 points in one match!

Most match points went to Riley Pike with 43, close behind him was Reese Pettiti with 41.
